Meet the Founder of Elevated Therapy, LLC: Chanele Williams

Elevated Therapy, LLC represents a combination of my big life passions – holistic pediatric
occupational therapy, community connectedness, and empowering fellow OTs.

I loved occupational therapy but was frustrated by challenges of the profession:

  • ● Feeling unappreciated
  • ● Extra job obligations that took away from client care
  • ● Lacking the freedom to provide therapy according to my style and values (not to
    mention, best practices as supported by research)

Professional Experiences

  • ● Experience across multiple settings and populations including outpatient pediatrics,
    skilled nursing facilities, home health, schools, and a residential treatment center
  • ● Incorporate a variety to wellness concepts into my practice with children including
    meditation and relaxation techniques, guided imagery, yoga, therapy, aroma therapy,
    wellness coaching, nutritional counseling
  • ● With my certification in DIR Floortime 101, I’m able to facilitate development through the
    power of human connection and play
  • ● Graduated with a Masters in OT from Howard University and began practicing OT in
    2017

Frustrations aside, I’m innately compelled to help people, especially children. And I keep
returning to this idea: My purpose on this earth is to elevate others through kind words
mixed with the right knowledge for improved performance in daily life.
After working in several practice settings, I’ve realized that nothing ignites my passion like
working with children. So, I took my pediatric practice into my own hands and envisioned a way
to meet the needs for contract pediatric OT services in my community in Virginia and Maryland
That’s how the idea for Elevated Therapy was born.
And this joy in working in pediatric occupational therapy isn’t something I
just want to design for myself.
I want other pediatric occupational therapists to experience the same joy, appreciation and
freedom that comes from working as a contract therapist.
